Flagstaff Arboretum Field Trip

Mike and I keep plugging away.....Mike in the Bishopric, me, the ward organist....trying to balance work (the business/practice), church, family. It's the same ol', same ol'. Except, the end of the school year is drawing to a close. And that means ALOT of field trips, music programs, talent shows. It's starting to get crazy. I'm going on 2 out of the 3 field trips scheduled for this week. The reason I'm not going on the 3rd one is because it's on the same day as another one. Mike is going to try to go on that one because it is to some Anasazi ruins. That should be cool. I get to go to Flagstaff with Amelia. It will be so much fun on a bus, 3 hours there and 3 hours back. UGH! It is going to be a long day. I'll let you know how it goes.

A few days later.......I'm letting you know how it went. It was really fun. There was a cool raptor show, an outdoor classroom to look at water creatures under magnifying glasses and lots of plants. Funny how that is, since it's in an arboretum, eh?

April Fool's Day

I made an awesome April Fool's dinner. I made meatloaf in muffin tins, frosted with colored, instant, mashed potatoes. For dessert, we had rice crispy treat sushi. As I didn't want to give anything away, I gathered everyone for dinner. We said a prayer, yet there was no food on the table. Mike says, yum, this looks great! It took several seconds before everyone rememebered it was April Fool's. I finally brought out the food and they were still tricked. :)

Studious Allie

Allie is working on Personal Progress. She hadn't been working on it because it seemed so overwhelming. Well, one night, after FHE, after everyone went to bed, I sat down to really look over some of the goals in the Personal Progress program. Once I got into it, I realized she had done alot of things without even realizing it. Especially with the 7 - 10+hours projects. She has 6 out of the 7 done. A couple of them she still needs to write it up. But she is really gung-ho now. Alot of the "little" value experiences have already been done too. They just need to be journaled. She has a goal of completing the WHOLE program by fall. The YW Presidency has planned a fall trip to St. George to do baptisms for the dead for all those girls who have completed Personal Progress. And Allie really wants to go. She is so driven that I know she'll do it.
